Evening all (or morning depending on where you might be in the world)
Right-e-o.. Last night I had a look at B3 fuse as suggested by Ramon. Basically pulled it out and shoved it back in then I tried the ignition and found the trip computer lights came on then disappeared. Not seen these lights on in years ha ha ha
So I replaced the fuse and PRESTO.. My fuel gauge works, the oil pressure light has gone out and the trip computer is operational.
Mmmm but that leaves no oil pressure or temp. So I looked at the oil transducer…. To my complete surprise, I had not hooked this back up when doing the motor install. Now I am a little confused with my wiring ability as the wire which clips onto it is missing…
I am sure originally one wire comes from the oil temp sender and the other from the oil transducer.. Correct?
Well I have put in an aftermarket oil temp sensor which has a + & - coming off it. I will have to re-trace my wiring to see what mistake I have made.
The water temp gauge does not bother me if it's not working as I have an after market gauge HOWEVER, that seems to be playing up and reading wayyyy to high.
So, half way there! Any suggestions? Or shall I just battle on and see what I can do.
Nice to have a fuel gauge which works…. I can see I actually have fuel now ha ha

Sorry i thought i had mentioned... after market senders with after market gauges! Oil temp works fine but having some issues with the water temp. ie. it shows that its running ovre 100* when its actually not. Probbaly an airlock OR some wiring issues.

Hello Marki, so it seems that what we need around here is a sticky giving a standard set of solutions to every problem, and a set of alternative standard solutions depending upon variables in different installations.katanaman wrote:ok I was giving you advice on standard kit not totally aftermarket your temp would read lower by the way if it was an airlock as the sender isnt in any coolant.

I think somewhere in al lthat was check the B3
did it! Replaced it, gauges work expect for oil temp/pressure as i am using an aftermarket temp sender to after market gauge and the transducer seemed not to be plugged in (ie No wire connected to anything!)
Will look at the possibility of just re installing the old temp sender and wiring back in the transducer. This should solve my oil temp/pressure reading.

OK Sorted!
Finally got round to tracing this wire from the oil transducer... seems sometime ago i had ummm cut it?!!! (what a cock a doodle doo!)
So now I have reconnected my oil pressure ... i cranked the motor over and it came up to 30. Is this the normal running pressure?
