Hmmm.... copy I have for disco 3.9 serpentine says clearance for main bearings is 0.0004" to 0.0016".

Looks like the Rave manual is wrong
This is my calculation in converting mm to thou
0.01mm 3.937007874 thou
0.048mm 18.8976378 thou

your out a decimal place on both your calculations, round it up and you get what the Rave manual says. by your calculations it would be 400 thou to a mm.r2d2hp wrote:Looks like the Rave manual is wrong

Don't laugh but i've just found some 20w50 oil in Wicks! I had to buy some in the name of research of course! Anyone know who makes Wicks oil?

Asda own brand 20w50 is about £5 for a 5 litre can
