Killed my LSD!
Took the Griff out for a bit of a hoon tonight and realised that the right hand rear wheel was just spinning on hard acceleration.
So the LSD is finally dead.
It's been knocking for ages, but tonight has killed it.
So, where can I get parts for an antique GKN diff?

Phantom Grip form Jon savage at Cmabridge motorsports is a good budget locker.
I've emailed GKN on 3 occasions asking for someone to contact me about advice and prices for a LSD but they never return the messages?

dnb,
I'm not familiar with the TVR diff as such, but if it's a GKN 4H based unit, as are many, then it is the same core internally as any of the Jag units. I rebuild lots of those for the Cobra community and might be able to help you out (or any of the std Jag people - Wards, John gordon, SNG Barret etc).

Sorry for spotting this so late! The TVR diff is borrowed from an old Maserati, and if you have the LSD GKN diff it is already a Quafe ATB type thing. Nice when it works.
I managed to find some spares for mine. It turns out the LSD itself wasn't dead, but the bearings were destroyed causing lots of shunting and general ill behaviour.
(Diagnosis wasn't helped by me completely destroying the clutch at the same time, but that's another long story involving a shredded friction plate due to the clutch not being fit for purpose and a very big argument)
I had a local mechanic - a historic rally car specialist - rebuild the diff with new bearings and solid shims instead of the collapsable thing it had from the factory. Some bearings were hard to get so we had to improvise a little.
It's a couple of years on now and the diff has never been better. I can recomend the solid spacer route as far superior to standard if the car has any power/torque increasing mods.
