have you tried any of the main RV8 tuners? John Eales might have one; there's also V8 Developments, V8 Tuner, DJE etc. Does it have to be a Type 9, as T5 bellhousings are a fair bit more common, plus the boxes are good for more power which is never a bad thing. TVR breakers might have one, they come up on ebay often enough as well 8-)

a type 9 bellhousing would be a great help and save a lot of work as my granada has a type 9 already.

To be honest your Granada might have a type 9 now but it wont for long. These boxes just aren't really strong enough for the Rover engine specially in a relatively heavy car like the Granada. This is why your going to find it difficult to find a bell housing. If budget is a problem then pick up an LT77, it will be a fairly easy fit and they are cheep.

yes, it looks like the 77 is the way it's gonna go, bellhousing for the type 9 seems a bit scarce, and as you say... not the strongest gearbox ever made

My Capri is running a 3.9 with sd1 bellhousing an adaptor plate and a type 9 box, the plate is a simple affair just a lump of steel with drilled and tapped holes.
As you say, not the strongest of boxes but if your sticking to 3.5 ltr you wont be putting any more through it than a standard 2.8I and you wont have to cut the bodywork to fit it.
Going to look at a 4.6 engine tomorrow, i cant see my gearbox lasting long with that though!
Obviously, if i swop the engines the box will be coming out so i could get you some pictures and dimensions etc or if you are local to Coventry you could have a look for yourself.
Cheers,
Paul
Sometimes i ask myself, why do i bother? Then she starts up and everything becomes clear.....
