I seem to have started an engine building frenzy. Im starting to build my 4.6 engine for my landrover, and now my mate wants to build another engine for his SD1. At the mo he is sitting with a mildly modded 3.5. He has recently got his hands on a 4.6 crank which he intends to have reground in order to fit his block.
The thing hes not sure about (and i couldnt help him either) is what rod/piston combo will he have to use in order to get the thing to work?
info needed..

you will have to look through catalogues to find pistons that will fit or re-sleeve the 3.5 to 3.9 better still get a 4.6 block. The 4.6 crank also doesnt clear the older blocks so you either have to machine the webs and get it all balanced properly again or weaken the block and machine it to clear. All in its a lot of work and money when you can actually just go out and get a 4.6 bottom end in the first place or buy an off the shelf stroke kit.
