If not, tollerances might be set a bit wide?

Anyone know what size thread the air filter retaining stud should be on an Edelbrock 1404 carb?

Please recheck the diagram

The breather is only going into the air filter housing (it will draw fumes into the engine and burn them)

It will have minimal vacuum (if any) and if it has any vacuum then the air filter is not big enough as it is restricting air getting to the carb

Well that's how the MG set up came originally - two pipes each with an inline flame trap routed to each carb.

The screw in discovery wotsit is a flame trap - it's certainly the same as the inline type i.e it's full of wire wool!

Could you explain why will I need to fit a PCV valve when the car didn't have one when I was running the SU's?

Previously there would have been two hoses aprox 7/16" bore running from each rocker cover to the carb.
There is now only one pipe approx 3/4" bore running from the drivers side rocker ...

I've got yet another MGB GT V8 with a genuine 38k on the clock (this time it's a keeper!) yeah yeah...
Well it IS a keeper this time because I've started throwing cash at it. ;)

Anyway, I've done a webber 500 conversion to it and I just wanted to check that ...

She's a pretty straight car. It needs about £700 throwing at it for paint - passenger side door is a bit flakey - but solid metal underneath? Must have been prepped badly. The tailgate isn't the best either.
The paint has been on the car since about '85 so any grot that was going to come through ...

I sold my last factory V8 back in March to start a business.
Well, 12 months on I've managed to earn enough cash to get another so here she is and I feel like Im able to post again:
I set out to buy a rubber bumper v8 without a sunroof and I ended up with a chrome bumper car with a webasto... AGAIN ...

The issue that has long narked me is the VAT.

It's a given that the cost of a litre of fuel is made up mostly of duty. Then they add the VAT on top of that. Effectively, you're paying a tax on tax you've already paid!!

You hear all this nonsense on the news about our country being in debt and ...

Someone suggested to me that the cause of the problem was getting rid of saddam hussein.
Apparently, he wouldn't play ball with the rest of the worlds oil suppliers in having fixed prices and therefore made them keep prices down?

Whether there's an element of truth in that, I've no idea!

Who's the guy on eBay offering 944 / RV8 conversion kits?
My other half is looking at putting a Rover into her 944 at some point in the future.
