Re: 3.9 EFi Fuel Rails?
Steviturbo, you are spot on. The Fitech one is set to 58 psi, so perhaps a bit more than required. I’m thinking a feed and return to the surge tank / swirl pot with the pumped output going to the engine. I won’t blank the return off, but run a return line to the tank to ensure ‘cool fuel’ is going t...

Re: 3.9 EFi Fuel Rails?
Tempted to try the same GD. The application is a bit of a unique one, we are Car 61 on here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5VgbB_YxeQ The shortest distance between 13 guardposts (checkpoints) wins, hence you drive as straight as possible even if that means down/up a cliff! The cars can be about t...

Re: 3.9 EFi Fuel Rails?
Thanks guys,
That is really useful. It is a standard 3.9 EFi running a K&N and open pipes, on a std pump mounted in the tank. I do have a pressure gauge for the ‘rail’ on the block but never tried it before the line failed. Both supply and return lines have been taken out of the car now.

3.9 EFi Fuel Rails?
I have 3.9 V8 EFi which has a couple of solid lines with braided 6" connectors to allow some flex I guess? One supplies fuel from the std pump in the tank, with the other returning it back to the tank. I have had problems with fuel starvation when the vehicle is tilted to around 45 degrees. It ...

Things have moved forward. Now the proud owner of a 3.9L v8 EFi. I'll list all the bits I think it has, but to start with a big K&N filter and straight, side exit exhausts. It's a bit loud!

Re: EMP Stewart Water Pump
Thanks! The std water pump will sap a bit of power, but the electric Davis Craig will be fine. I have a twin big batt setup for the mooooosive winch up front and the smaller one behind.

Re: Most Suitable Coolant
I read somewhere that there are three different types of coolant recommended for V8s, depending on their age? Different colours too? I’ll try and find that info…

Re: EMP Stewart Water Pump
Holy thread resurrection Batman!
I’ll be fitting a Davies Craig electric pump to my 3.9 V8 soon, and I’m in two minds about leaving the standard pump ‘as is’ with just a few holes in the thermostat or stripping the impeller out? I can’t find any blanking plates on the ‘net…

Kenya V8 owner to be…
Hi everyone, A Toyota owner here (Landcruiser safari & Hilux double cab) however I have entered a team for next years’ Rhino Charge and almost certainly buying a Land Rover v8 for that event. I’m sure I’ll be asking all sorts of silly questions, even after owning a 4.6 Disco2 in the states 10 ye...
