That would be a fair enough theory. However, my prop has a flate plate with 4 bolts at both ends as its a 1 piece adapted Capri item, so no splines to mis-match.

Removed 'other' engine as it had head gasket probs. No vibration issues with that engine/box/prop setup (or the previous 3). Fitted this engine with the previous box/prop setup.

Just refitted my RV8 into my Capri. Its gained some vibration which may, or may not, be the gearbox.
Manual LT77 Rover with hydraulic clutch.
Symptoms;
Accelerate (not 'boot') & the vibration seems to be from the front of the car.

fuelling is ok. Have had the dizzy out to check I'm not 180 degrees out but I'm off to check again

OK, back from the garage.
Connected as per Ramon/Denis's instructions.

Pin 1 on dizzy to coil neg
Pin 3 on dizzy to coil pos (via 3 to 2 pin adaptor)
- (Coil is actually a DLB198 so it seems I've been running the Opus on the wrong coil).
Silver box disconnected.
This is now the situation ...

sorry, just posted that to show how it came (with no instructions). That section of wires is not being used as I have a 3 to 2 pin adaptor.

found out about the 3/2 wires off the dizzy from another post on here.
Pin no.1 is coil neg, pin 2 not connected via adaptor, pin 3 coil pos.
I'll connect them direct.
Coil 12v pos supply. If I disconnect the silver box totally I presume I will have a 12v supply from the starter which I can run to ...

Have replaced the guts of the Opus & it ran good with no setup or running probs on the other engine before it lunched the crank.
Have another dizzy with points etc which came with the engine - will try that one.

A lot of the OldSkoolFord people talk highly of them.
Certainly when I was talking to them about setting up my Capri Mk1 RV8 with Holley 390cfm they were very helpful.

Its an ex Range Rover engine with my old SD1 front cover/opus dizzy/Holley/Offenhauser fitted.

Checked TDC by pulling plug 1 & checking no.1 is at the top. Replace plug.
