Inlet manifold gasket problems

Just recently i noticed that the inlet manifold gasket on my rv8 has bubbled up due to some unknown pressure (see picture). Also recently it's been loosing coolant but i cant work out from where?? Ever since i overhauled the top end i've noticed that occasionally there is a little bit of water sitti...

The split was quite near to one of the clips, so maybe it's just the hoses that are knackered. From what i remember the thermostat has a hole in it. I'll try starting it without the cap on and see if it 'burps'. cheers

I've recently done the head gasket so i don't think it's that. What else could be causing this pressure?? I checked and the cap isn't jammed. The cap doesn't have a vent, the side of the part that recieves the cap has the vent, although it doesnt have a bottle or anything. Which shouldn't matter. Is...

rad cap

I have a hilux with a 3.5 rv8 in. Once it heats up the rad pipes seem to be under a lot of pressure, to the extent that recently one of them split open. The radiator is from a shogun which has it's original cap that says 0.9 on the top of it. I'm guessing this means 0.9 bar (13 psi)??? Is it possibl...

Sorry to need to be spoon fed on this one but...... Is the oil pressure switch the thin piece with 3 spade connectors on the end that comes out of the oil pump casing or is it the shallow cylinder that's about 2 inches in diameter and about 1 inch deep? Neither have wires going to them. When it come...

I'll take the pump base off like katanaman said and see if the valve is stuck.

The tappets make no noise at all.

I put 20/50 oil in but the oil light still comes on. I tried hitting the pump to see if it would release the potentially sticking valve but it had no effect. Would it be worth replacing the valve with a tadpole one just to see if it has an effect?? If so where is a good place to get one from and how...

The pump is right next to the tank.

If the pump is the same as the one in the link above is it powerful enough to keep up with this engine (3.5 RV8)??

I'll do away with the return line.

The pump in the link above is the same (or at least looks the same) as the one I have.

There is nothing between the return line and the supply line to restrict flow. Where is a good place to get a regulator from and where should it be fitted?

It's running on twin SU carbs.

Correct Fuel Pump??

I have an RV8 in my hilux, which was already fitted when i bought it. Occasionally i have problems with it stalling and i think it's something to do with the fuel supply, as there never seems to be very much fuel in the filter. I'm not sure if the fuel pump is the correct one. I took some pictures o...

The light is on once the engine warms up at all rev ranges. I'll change the filter and put the correct oil in this weekend and let you all know what happens. Cheers

As for the milage of the engine....not sure, with it not being the original engine it's difficult to tell. I overhauled the top end but left the bottom end alone so not sure about the condition of the bearings. At the moment it has semi synthetic 10w-40 oil in. Will that make a big difference? Where...

Oil pressure

I have a 3.5l rover v8 running in my Toyota Hilux. When it is first started everything is fine, but once the engine warms up the oil pressure light comes on. My question is….Why does this happen and how do I fix it?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
