Don't need to change valve guides.

Enginetech in USA makes some very nice umbrella valve steam seals you can use on early RV8 valve guide.

I bought a car in UK and it is now here.

V5C/4 was sent to DVLA and I have the rest of V5.

But there is a problem with chassis number. There is an error on V5. One letter is wrong.

It is a problem here for customs and registration.

each head porting guru seems have his own recipe.

It is a for Volvo lifters and shorter Grp A pushrods.

Several points to rev :
1) rod/stroke ratio
2) weight of rods/pistons
3) valve train weight and stability at high rev
4) bore/heads (big deal on RV8 because heads strangle engine breathing upper 6500 rpm )

It is an Yankee Myths you need billet crank for race application.

With short stroke SG crank does the job.

You don't need just to swap part for stronger but you need to concieve the engine for high rev.

That's right but check engine combo....

When you want rev more than 7000rpm it is a total other world when you build engine.

OK, so.... I have built a car for the BCV8 championship and currently have a John Eales full race 3.9 engine with downdraft dellortos. The max safe revs on the engine for continuous race use is 6500 which limits the differential ratio to a 3.3.

If you offset your 4.6 crank to 3.4 stroke, you can use SBC 5.85" small journal rods with SBC 305 pistons.

If your block has been flanged with Westwood T-liners O.D. 99.1mm you can bore it up 96.5mm.

For spark plug, ordinary NGKs make great job.
