... Absolutely correct Nothing, straight swap - free performance upgrade that anyone building a 4.6 should consider. Crown height, ring pack, pin diameter, etc all identical - dish volume is the only difference. They come up on Fleebay alot, as bizarely no-one seems to want them. My spread sheet ca...

Yes - the crank is a cast unit. Main journals are 58.4 mm diam. Big ends are 50.8 mm diam. I have not mearured width. I spoke to someone in the industry today that assures me the crank was produced by Stroker Industries in Adelaide, South Australia, but this company has now ceased trading. The rods ...

Can anyone identify the manufacturer or provide further details regarding stroker crank? It is a short-nose crank and stamped with No 374. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/126/356201759_979ad567c1.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/137/356201839_cc9fa76336.jpg Stroke measures at 86mm, which is odd as ...

HairBear, you will have to get rid of the Clio and replace it with a TR7 as spare RV8s fit much better - straight into the spare tyre wheel - they don't roll around at all! :P

Has anyone had experience in fitting Westwood flanged liners for the Rover V8 engines? http://www.westwoodtrading.co.uk/catalo ... ed%20Liner

Are there other suppliers that anyone would recommend?

Thanks Royston, can you advise details of the liners that you had used so that I can investigate local supply?

No gaskets came with engine. Heads had already been dipped (and pressure tested ok), so no marks visible.

I assume to confirm that it is liner failure the block needs to be pressure tested at temperature? Do any Aussies forum members know of someone that can do this?

So any suggestions on how to determine if the washed piston is caused by liner or head gasket failure?

New member rebuilding RV8s

Hi there, I am in the middle of TR7-V8 conversion project. I have bought a cross bolted RV8 4.0L engine though eBay. The piston second from rear on RH side appears "washed clean" so I assume either head gasket or liner failure on this pot. I would appreciate advice on how to proceed, and i...
