It's not a plug at all but it's Atspeed racing in Essex http://www.atspeedracing.co.uk/ he carried the full stock of weber/eddy jets and needles and actually spent as much time as it needed until he was happy with the car. Thanks for all the comments.... I gave up trying to mess about myself and took it to a rolling road. Welded in a wideband receiver hole. Ignition was putting 55 degrees on full advance so had to trim that back for starters. Once the ignition was in trim we did an inital run, it made 118bhp at the wh...

Kevin, I've kept number 7 and 5 apart, heard that from other people too. The cam is the Viper Hurricane Hydraulic Camshaft from Real steel, pretty mild by most accounts, still able to use hydraulic lifters so can't be too wild. I'm considering having it setup on a rolling road as I'd like to get out...

Not alot of luck so far, tried to lever it out and no joy, it moves up a little but won't actually lift out. I'm abit nervous that it might have chewed all the plastic gear up and it's mis-shapen. have you got a pic of one pulled out?

Thanks for all the advice so far... Biggest issue was the 12v DLB120 coil running a ballast resistor. A well known 'v8 specialists' didn't even pick up on this, Should have been DLB102 and they sold me that combination! Fitment of DLB198 with the new Lucas dizzy has transformed the car, starts on th...

Simple chip, but it states the timing should be altered. I haven't done this yet but didn't think it would stop it idling..

Where do I find the Idle control valve on the 3.9? I'm not not familier with all the components on the injected cars yet...

LT77 Speedo drive removal

MY LT77 has a broken speedo drive (doesn't turn when gear engaged. I have a replacement to fit but the old one doesn't seem to want to come out. I've taken the clamp off but the drive itself won't pull out.

Is there a knack to it or is it stuck in there for good?

MG RV8 3.9 Rover (Chipped - Idle issue)

Hi, I have a 1996 MG RV8 3.9 EFI which I have recently chipped with one of RPI engineering's Optimax chips. The car seems to pull very well and drives nicely but won't idle once warm. You can start from cold and it will run fine but then once you're out on the road it simply dies when you pull up to...

How can I tell? Will it be stamped into the jets/rods?

I haven't really considered it given that I just wanted to try and keep the car setup fairly simple. I must be able to get reasonable results with my setup?

If I was to start again I'd build the whole thing differently but I think that's for another winter.

Ha it's good that you said that! I was looking at some sites last night and realised the very same thing! I'm still running for some reason a Dlb120 which i believe is a 12v coil?? With a ballast resistor in place. Ordered a DLB198 last night!! How do you go about re-curving the Lucas? Thanks

Perry, The carb is two years old (I bought it new) and has only covered say 5k mies. Maybe some petrol stains collecting in the mainifold, thought it was a touch of oil but it's too golden. Not sure on the model of fuel pump but i can check, i think it's the MGB Hive pointless. Maybe SU. Fuel pump j...

MG V8 Conversion help required - 3.5 - Eddy 500 etc

Hi, I've done a lot of searching on the forum to try and help with my issue but I can't seem to get any nearer to solving it. I'm not sure if this is the correct section but I wondered if anybody could shed some light for me please... I'm running a Rover 3.5 with 9.75 pistons, mild cam from reel ste...
