Could i have i damaged my engine?

Hi Started up my rv8 4.6 today to show a friend and after a couple of mins at idle i revved it a couple of times to hear the lovely sound of the engine revving. Unfortunately i had a spanner near the throttle linkage which jammed the throttle on full, after a couple seconds of panic i turned the eng...

Found the problem!
The driverside metering rod was bent! and therefore not returning to the jet.
Has anybody ever had this before?
If i replace it will i have to adjust the spring to stop this happening again?
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Which Dizzy?

Hi Tried to fire my RV8 4.6 after rebuild today and discovered that my newtronics electronic ignition system has died. I spoke to Chris at RPI who was very helpful and recommended a Mallory Unilite Dizzy, but the kits cost £375 which is a little expensive for me at the moment. He told me that i woul...

Rocker Cover Question

Hi

I have a RV8 in my tr7.
Im trying to remove the oil filler extension that is on my rocker cover.
Do these unscrew?
Im having real difficulty getting it off and its too high to stay on and fit under my bonnet.
I think the rocker covers are of a rover sd1.

Thanks in advance

Flywheel fitting rv8 sd1 lt77 manual

Hi i am putting an sd1 flywheel onto a late rv8 4.6.
My flywheel has six bolt holes which seem to match the crank but the crank has a dowel as well which fits between 2 of the holes.
Can i remove the dowel?
Or do i need to drill the flywheel?
Thanks in advance.

thx
the thing is i have a composite "heavy duty" gasket spare though it is much thinner than the cork, do you recommend using this or getting another cork gasket and trying again.

Cheers
