composite head gasket installation

Anyone have experience installing composite head gaskets? Finishing the rebuild of my 3.5L Aluminum V8, and I'm ready to install the heads. I'm using composite gaskets for the first time and would like to know if any of you have and particular tips or techniques for installation... surface prep, gas...

agreed... 10.25:1 is a bit high, which is why I went with the composite gasket... to tone it down a little. I spec'd the engine out according to the recommendations of an engine builder who specializes in these old aluminum v8s. It'll be some time until the project is complete (this is just one step...

composit head gasket

quick question for you all... I'm just finishing up a complete rebuild of my 3.5L aluminum v8... bored out the cylinders, 10.25:1 pistons, new cam, and so on. I'm just about to put the heads on, but I've got composite head gaskets and I've never used these things before. Is there anything special I ...

No way to drive anything between the hub and drive member... no gap to speak of. Just had to try and spin it free (as the stub axel was still inside). Thanks for the advic...

Hub Disassembly

Trying to disassemble the hubs on my Defender... The brake drum is off; hub cap is off; the circlip has been removed; the six bolts retaining the driving member have been removed... According to the shop manual, I'm supposd to be able to remove the driving member and joint washer... but I can't get ...

Who is the manufacturer of your exhaust?
Did your headers fit without a problem (I'm assuming that system went into a Defender)?

I'm in the market for headers and a new exhaust, and I'd like to know what has been working for others.

Thanks,
Punter

Cam Suggestions

I've got a 3.5L V8 from my D110, that I'm rebuilding... Engine is out, stripped down, and at the machine shop. I'm going to start ordering my parts for the rebuild and I'd like to know if any of you, that own this same motor, have installed an aftermarket cam in yours. If so, what did you use and ho...
